Ninth Day of Christmas

The rain returned. I’m guessing by now you know that I’m not a fan of going out in it. But I wanted to take a bus ride over the Lion’s Gate Bridge just to see Burrard Inlet – I never tire of the view, rain or shine. There’s something inspiring about seeing that stretch of water bracketed between the shores of North Vancouver and Vancouver.

Also, it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been, so I thought it was time to revisit the Echo Cafe. There is definitely something about this coffee shop that speaks to my writing process. I can just sit and scribble ideas for future blogs, articles for clients, and my personal writing projects in my journal or writing workbook – I usually take both along. This was my first restaurant outing in a long time; I thought I’d splurge since it’s the holidays.

Speaking of holidays, it did seem a little strange to be celebrating when many people went back to work. Because I’m a freelancer, I like the idea that I can do both! However, I did settle down to roughing out a better business plan and getting some other year-end freelance-related paperwork finished up.
