Over – Fragment #59

He kissed her, nothing like he’d ever done in the past. Shrapnel embedding fragments of dreams never coming to fruition into her lips and the skin around her mouth. She felt limp. She felt as though she was a page torn from a book. Just as she heard him looking at her, he spoke. Calmly, not in anger, as far as she could tell, he said, “It’s over.”
