To her discerning eye, the statue looked twisted, bleak and unfinished. When she commented that it seemed unbalanced, Barry pronounced it asymmetrical and the work of a genius. She didn’t want him to think that she wasn’t listening to him or that she didn’t value his opinion, so Elizabeth pontifically wandered around the statue, considering it from different angles. Barry, as if he knew it was all an act, smirked discretely and continued standing in the same place, waiting for her return. She idly wondered if their opposing outlooks on art weren’t an allegory of their relationship that should be heeded before she agreed to move in with him.
