McAuley Park Vancouver

A recent taco run to Sal y Limon (I don’t care if I know the owners – the food is really good and I don’t mind telling everyone) took me past McAuley Park in Vancouver, Kingsway at Fraser. First, all of the flags flying caught my attention and then the little birdie on the sign. I wondered about the “The Dickens Community Group” so I looked it up. I thought I was in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, but Dickens is actually a sub-neighbourhood in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage Community. The park is situated on a triangular-shaped piece of land.

  1. Do you know the origin of MaC park? Pretty interesting and dramatic stuff.

  2. It was named after my grandparents, Harvey and Theresa McAuley. They are part of the Dickens group. And live in the area.
