More Adventures from Underneath My Kitchen Sink

You may remember that I confronted the building manager in December about the smell emanating from underneath my kitchen sink. He “fixed” it the following day by applying a layer of plaster directly on top of the existing mess.

After building manager plastered around the cold water shut-off valve, at least the tape was covering the hole behind the wall.

When the painter came to do the bathroom in mid-January, I asked him to take a look and tell me if it was a plumbing problem or a plastering/painting issue. He said he would take care of it.

I thought the painter would re-plaster first and then paint, but I guess he did the best he could without it being a "sanctioned" repair.

It’s much better than before and the smell appears to have gone. But it still doesn’t seem right to me – just because it’s underneath the sink, shouldn’t mean it can’t look pretty.
